Tom is an award-winning composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist working across film, television, podcasting, and experimental electronic music. With a Distinction-level Master’s degree in Composition for Film & Television (following a BMus in Music Performance), his work spans narrative scoring, sound design, and immersive soundworlds.He composed the score for The Nightcrawlers, a searing exposé of President Duterte’s war on drugs, shortlisted for both the BAFTAs and Academy Awards and winner of the Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Documentary. His screen work also includes the award-winning UK short Calico and The Making of an Activist for Disney+/Hulu, alongside a three-part documentary podcast series.Tom’s music has been heard nationally and internationally across major broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, and beyond. Alongside bespoke commissions and production-music releases, he has collaborated with leading audio brands, mixing live sessions.Under the moniker ghøstmachine, Tom creates experimental ambient and electronic music, exploring texture, space, and minimalism through immersive soundscapes and long-form releases.As a guitarist and producer, he performs and works closely with a range of artists across soul, spoken word, hip-hop, and folk-adjacent projects, contributing through performance, production, mixing, additional instrumentation, string arrangements, and sound design. His session work includes studio recordings and live performances, primarily as a guitarist but widening out to other instruments such as pedal steel, banjo et al.] across the UK and internationally, alongside ongoing work with high-end events and touring projects.Alongside his creative practice, Tom is Programme Leader for the BA Music for Film, TV & Games at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance [ICMP], where he designed and authored the degree programme. His published curriculum work reflects a close alignment between contemporary industry practice, critical listening, and emerging approaches to music and sound for screen and interactive media.Away from the studio and music endeavours, Tom splits his time between chasing a low score on the golf course, cheering on the mighty Spurs, staying immersed in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, following the MLB season, hanging with the legendary Symbi, and travelling to new places, usually with an excuse to be outdoors.If you want a round ⛳️ get in touch
